A former two-term at-large councilman and 2007 mayoral candidate, David Briley tells Pith he's considering a run for vice mayor. He says he's not quite ready to make a final decision, and is still considering things like whether he could help the city and what's best for his family.
"I'd like to get back involved and help the city," he says, "but I'm still weighing those factors."
If he does run, Briley will likely be up against At-Large Councilman Tim Garrett, who told The Tennessean last April that he plans to run and has even appointed his wife as his campaign treasurer.
Garrett previously ran for vice mayor in 1999, but lost in a runoff to current At-Large Councilman Ronnie Steine.
