As Garrison reports in The City Paper, the home-based business bill sponsored by Metro Councilman Mike Jameson went down to defeat last night, 21-11. "Some said approving the bill would set a negative trend of business intrusion into residential neighborhoods," Garrison writes. This being Music City, and there being a lot of home recording studios about, one could argue that business "intrusion" into residential neighborhoods happened long ago, and that this bill simply would have legalized current practices that don't seem to be bothering anyone all that much. But Donelson definitely is different from East Nashville. Hard to argue with that.
