Zac Brown Band's Southern Ground Fest Returns to the Lawn at Riverfront Park Sept. 27 and 28, Taps Willie Nelson, Grace Potter, Edward Sharpe and More

So hey! A big music event is going down this summer at the Lawn at Riverfront Park, and it will feature a huge, iconic American legacy act, along with some younger musicians who carry on the tradition of the aforementioned legacy act. No, we're not repeating ourselves — I'm not talking about AmericanaramA with Bob Dylan, Wilco and MMJ on June 30. I'm talking about Zac Brown Band's Southern Ground Music and Food Festival, which will return for its second year at the Lawn on Sept. 27 and 28.

Last year's Southern Ground — the first big event at Music City's then-newly unveiled Lawn at Riverfront — featured an eclectic lineup, with performances from the likes of Amos Lee, The Lumineers and plenty more. This year's fest will feature Willie Nelson* and Family, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Eli Young Band, Kacey Musgraves, The Head and the Heart, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue and "additional names to be announced soon," plus "sit-in performances" from Kenny Chesney, John Fogerty, Jason Mraz and more. The fest will of course also have the food tip covered, with VIP ticketing options providing "complimentary beer, wine, liquor and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as gourmet cuisine from ZBB's mobile kitchen."

Tickets start at $99, and general sale begins Saturday, April 27, at 10 a.m. Pre-sale for Zac Brown Band fan-club members begins on April 24 at noon, and pre-sale opens to those who attended last year's festival on April 25 at 10 a.m.

* Keep your eyes on the Cream tomorrow for some interesting Willie news. You know. Just sayin'.
