Some friends and I recently had the genius idea to update Billy Joel’s seminal 1989 classic “We Didn’t Start the Fire” to the present day. Why, the '90s alone: You can rhyme Lewinsky with Kaczynski, come on. We immediately went out and told another group of friends our plan, only to find that they too had experienced the same impulse. Is it possible that we were late to the updating game? Based on the assorted YouTube uploads I found, yes. (Ours would have been so much better.)
