Somebody's got a birthday coming up! That's right, our noble music listings editor and general rouser of rabble, Adam Gold, is celebrating his 30th this Sunday, April 17. It's been a long ride, am I right? Seriously, Gold's always been a sport about letting me 'Shop his beautiful mug into foolish scenarios, so the guy deserves some props. Happy birthday, Gold.

Now, as far as music goes this weekend, it's about to get overwhelmingly epic. As you likely already know, tomorrow is Record Store Day, and you can consult my guide to the RSD festivities if you need help navigatin'. This weekend also marks the end of noble Finnish troubadour The Mattoid's extended stay in Nashville, so you should check out one of his many appearances. Tonight, you've got Rites of Spring with The National and Public Enemy, Gabrahm Vitek and Ella Riot at The Basement and plenty more. Tomorrow, of course, you have Jerry Lee Lewis' Third Man Record Store Day appearance, celebrations at The Groove, Grimey's and more, plus Hacienda, The Greenhornes and PUJOL at Mercy Lounge, Hunx and His Punx, Shannon and the Clams, JEFF and Heavy Cream at The End, more Rites of Spring — feat.
