I know I’m not the only one who’s missed Crofton and the Zoo Crew in their absence. It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the good folks at Lake Fever Productions — who are apparently now kinda homeless — but Lake Fever rep and Crofton Show knob-twiddler Joe Baine Colvert has volunteered to record this week’s show from his home ... screamin' babies, vacuum cleaners and all. Crofton has assured me that he and the boys will record a brand-new episode this week, which will hopefully be available to all of our beloved readers and listeners right here on the Cream in its customary Friday morning slot.

And while we’re on the subject of Crofton crackin’ wise, it deserves a mention that he will be appearing at the charming and mysteriously capitalized East Side venue fooBar on Wednesday nights throughout the summer. He’s calling it “The Best of Bread Live,” and he’ll be spinning records, talkin’ shit, discussing his new career as a prospector and more. Best part? It’s free. Every Wednesday night at fooBar.

OK, and soon we’ll get to an official, fully detailed announcement of the Fourth of July/National Hot Dog Month show we’re co-hosting at Mercy Lounge. But for now, I’m just going to give you 10 words: MC Crofton, Stuntband, Heartbeater, Armed Forces, Ghostfinger, free hot dogs. Dig it.
