Thought Bubbles Out Loud: A Comic Book Discussion

by

In case the bat cave full of hype that has accompanied the bleakly existential Dark Knight to record-breaking box office receipts hasn't made it abundantly clear—comics aren't only for kids anymore. Just in time to save the day, the Downtown Public Library has three heroic experts swooping in to help the citizens of our own little Gotham read between the lines of the graphic novel genre, discussing the up, up, and away journey of comic books from kiddie-pulp to serious adult lit. Join scholar Dr. Jonathan Lampley and artists/authors Hope Larson and Erica Well for coffee and a discussion. With any luck you'll be all caught up by the time The Watchmen hits the big screen.
