With four kids of their own, owners Elizabeth Stelling and Brian Bills know a little something about feeding families, and the Wild Hare is one of the family-friendliest places around. In the casual dining room, with blond wood booths, bright-red walls and a chalkboard mural for kids to draw on, mac-and-cheese coexists comfortably with braised beef short ribs and grilled asparagus, and omnivores dine happily alongside vegetarians. There’s no kids’ menu per se, but the fresh and locally focused repertoire is devised to appeal to appetites of all sizes and levels of sophistication, from lobster pizza and pan-seared trout to cheddar grits and peanut butter pie. Beer and wine are available.
