An original mural by Red Grooms, historical dioramas, rotating exhibitions and an extensive collection of artifacts make the Tennessee State Museum one of Nashville’s favorite cultural sites. The museum covers Tennessee’s prehistory, its involvement in the Civil War, women’s suffrage and Prohibition, as well as traveling art exhibits from American folk artists like Howard Finster and William Edmondson. Admission is free.
