When: Sept. 7-16 2012
Since 1906, the Tennessee State Fair has been entertaining attendees with thrilling rides, musical entertainment and family-friendly competitions for everything from livestock to creative arts. It’s also the best place to get funnel cake, because getting funnel cake in a non-fair environment is just weird. Like ice cream? There are multiple ice cream eating contests. Like rides? Buy an unlimited ride wristband in advance for only $20 (but maybe do those unlimited rides before the ice cream contest). Like music? This year’s 10-day run includes free concerts from The Grascals and The WannaBeatles. Like racing pigs? Well, who doesn’t? (Seriously, they have racing pigs.) Check the fair’s website at tnstatefair.org for information on daily discounted admissions and themed days.
