When: June 15-16, 7:30 p.m. 2012
Chris Boardman has composed and arranged for movies and TV, but he’s also a jazz keyboard player — he recorded three albums with the pioneering group Wishful Thinking in the late 1980s. His music has supported film icons such as Shirley MacLaine, Mel Gibson and Brad Pitt, his contributions ranging from The Wiz to Lilo & Stitch. Now Boardman turns playwright, as the six-time Emmy winner’s first script premieres locally in a workshop presentation co-directed by the author and Courtney McClellan. The cast features David Kinnard, Ann Street, Michelle Glen and Perlie Dunn, in a portrait of a dysfunctional family’s struggle to communicate in a time of crisis. Boardman joins in as composer, performing his original score. For further information, contact Jaz Dorsey of the Nashville Dramaturgy Project at 915-0891, or email email@example.com.
