When: Dec. 1-24 2012
I’ve lived in Nashville long enough to know the signs that winter is on the way: The tomatoes stop ripening, hockey season starts popping up in conversation (or not), and Cumberland Gallery announces its Small Packages exhibit. The 18th annual holiday gift show will feature works by more than 40 artists, with every piece predictably measuring in at less than 1 square foot. The show offers gift-buyers a chance to purchase outrageously affordable works in a range of media from a gaggle of gallery regulars like Marilyn Murphy, Kit Reuther, Andrew Saftel and Dane Carder. Tonight’s opening reception should be a blast — if you can keep from thinking about that awkward family holiday event that’s just around the corner.
