Well, there’s not much to say about this show — except that it’s gonna be hella awesome! The thought of seeing one of our all time favorite Southern rockers — A Black Crowe! A Brother of a Feather! — in one of the city’s most intimate settings has us almost unreasonably pumped. Granted, containing our excitement has never been our strong suit, but we’re talking about a legend here! And this isn’t just about some misty-eyed nostalgia for tunes cut 20-odd years ago and played to death by unimaginative radio programmers — Robinson’s 2011 Through a Crooked Sun was one of the most criminally underrated records of last year. Crooked Sun is one of those woozy, humid psychedelic records that reverberates in your brain long after the record stops spinning, and only grows in stature when you see the material live.
