When: Fri., July 20, 6:30 p.m. 2012
What’s better than getting up early on a Saturday morning to go to the Nashville Farmers’ Market? Staying out late on a Friday and partying there. I was recently asked to write down some of my thoughts about the Farmers’ Market’s comeback since the flood of 2010 — and, when you think about it, it’s made an amazing recovery. I enjoyed the vendors and the Market House eateries before the waters rose, but this rising-phoenix version of the place features a slew of artisan stands, local food stars like Arnold Myint and why-didn’t-they-think-of-this-sooner events like Night Market. As usual, in addition to the delicious produce and meats available on the farm side, the Market House restaurants and shops will also be staying open late, so plan to come for dinner. Tonight’s farm fête will feature Chef Laura Wilson’s canning tips, live music and adult beverage sales for the big farmers.
