Mike Huckabee at Davis-Kidd

I Heart Huckabee

Progressives have had a few weeks now to indulge in election schadenfreude; but if you're a liberal still eager to gloat over conservative infighting, you will find an unlikely ally in Mike Huckabee. His new campaign memoir, Do the Right Thing, excoriates rival Mitt Romney as a phony conservative who "changed the light bulbs in his chandelier in time to run for president." The book details Huckabee's rise from obscurity in 2007, but it's also a critique of what he considers losing Republican policies. Even if the former Arkansas governor won't be getting your vote in the 2012 primary (I'm sure he'd appreciate it), you can find something in him to admire. After all, the cuddly creationist is a rock bassist, a frequent Daily Show guest and--judging from his book's title--probably a huge Spike Lee fan.
