Wait a minute — Making Moves, the weekly Monday-night hip-hop showcase at The End, is still a thing? Damn right it is. While we haven’t checked in on this event since its very first week, it’s been, um, making moves and presenting some of the best talent Nashville’s underground hip-hop scene has to offer. Think of it as the 8 off 8th for the big-beat set — it’s quickly becoming just as important as that venerable showcase, but it’s not nearly as long and there aren’t half as many set changes. (We love a good set change, but eight of them can get a bit tedious.) Anyway. This week’s Making Moves features the P.U.S.H Productions crew — Ducko McFli, Sofa Brown, Evan Blocker, Karl Marx — whom you no doubt know from the lavish praise heaped on them at every turn by the Nashville Cream’s weekly hip-hop column Party & Bullsh*t.
