Several area restaurants offer Valentine's specials this weekend. A partial listing:

Five Senses: Valentine's Day three-course prix fixe with choice of wild sockeye salmon with leek bread pudding, asparagus, cherry tomatoes and hollandaise; filet of beef with artichoke heart, bacon-potato hash, haricot verts and veal demi; or leek bread pudding, robust tomato sauce, sautéed asparagus and portabellas, and frizzled leeks. 867-4155, 1602 W. Martha's at the Plantation: Valentine's weekend specials Feb. 13-14 include grilled beef tenderloin with red wine gravy, soft blue polenta and wilted cabbage ($24); red snapper steamed in parchment with orange, carrots and potatoes ($22); brick-oven chicken with warm arugula salad ($18); winter phyllo pie with winter squash, arugula, quinoa, feta cheese and mint orange relish ($17); and dark chocolate soufflé with candied orange ($6). Miro District: Valentine's Day three-course prix-fixe meal with choices including oxtail agnolotti with beef cheeks, ricotta and escarole; New Bedford scallops with saffron risotto and jonah crab with octopus, blood orange and frisee; Acacian red fish with fennel, meyer lemon, red potato and haricot verts; and a lamb tasting. Old Hickory Steakhouse at Gaylord Opryland: Valentine's weekend Chateaubriand for two, including butter-poached grass-fed beef with roasted new potatoes, wilted spinach in a red wine cassis sauce and a gourmet chocolate dessert, for $84. Call 871-6848.
