Joint Project 1

When: April 5-7 2013

Last month, curator Susan Sherrick and fashion journalist Libby Callaway announced that their latest venture would be a series of art and culture happenings called Joint, and the buzz started almost immediately. Sherrick, whose resume boasts stints at major galleries like David Zwirner and Howard Greenberg, is lending her curatorial experience to Callaway’s media connections and immaculate eye for talent. The first project coincides with Nashville’s Fashion Week and has a fashion photography theme; Buttermilk Road Sunday Suppers is hosting an opening party; architect Nick Dryden and photographer Caroline Allison are hosting the pop-up exhibit in their home; emerging local photogs like Heidi Ross and Joshua Black Wilkins will be featured alongside greats like Richard Avedon and Irving Penn. “Joint will also make a point to bring local and national/international creators together, and to offer art at many price points,” says Callaway. “The goal is to be inclusive — never exclusive. This is a community project, through and through.”
