When: April 25-27 2013
Chicago native Hannibal Buress has hustled for several years to become an overnight success. At 30, he’s hard to miss, having already been a staff writer for 30 Rock and SNL, a featured guest on many late-night talk shows, host of a weekly comedy night at New York’s Knitting Factory, and host of his own Comedy Central special. In addition to relentless touring, Buress co-hosts The Eric Andre Show and is a frequent guest on W. Kamau Bell’s Totally Biased. That resume might not seem so impressive, since there are plenty of middling comics who stay busy — just ask Jay Leno. Buress, however, delivers the goods, taking his own approach to controversial topics and run-of-the-mill scenarios with an incisive deadpan. Buress’ laid-back manner belies his knack for timing and ability to turn the most banal observation into a punchline, both of which will be in full effect during this special engagement.
