Summer Reading

If you aren't already halfway through your second trashy novel/celebrity bio/stack of New Yorkers, you've got a lot of catching up to do! Although many of us are more bookish in the fall, summer is a great time to catch up on good reads, and a local writer is submitting a tome of his own for your reading-list approval. Summer, Geoff Little's collection of four short stories, follows a number of characters through the dog days in scenes that display both pratfalls and poignancy. "After Reginald's Birthday Dinner" describes an unusual love affair between a mother, her son and her new suitor, while "Chicken Fighting" is an ugly-duckling tale with an un-fairytale-like ending. Meet the author and get a signed copy at the Twist Gallery space in the Arcade.
