Friends of Eddie and Martha Adcock Benefit

Classical Grass

A member of the IBMA’s Hall of Fame for his work with the “classic” Country Gentlemen, banjo/guitar phenom Eddie Adcock is both an esteemed master and wild man of bluegrass. But while he jokes about it easily enough, the cutting-edge brain surgery he underwent to deal with a persistent hand tremor, not to mention other health problems, resulted in an involuntary suspension of work for Adcock and his wife, who’ve been turning out fine records and shows for decades. Given the Adcocks’ own generosity—they’ve put together annual benefits for the homeless at Station Inn for years—it’s no surprise that their community has rallied on their behalf with a stellar list of friends and admirers who have plenty of friends and admirers of their own. And just as their Christmas benefits have not just served a good cause, but served up plenty of warmth and virtuosity, this one, too, is likely to be a night to remember.
