Co. H is the best thing to come out of the Watkins art scene since the fabled Secret Show series sneaked up on me some years ago. That series was important because it showed student-artists taking the initiative, reaching past the confines of their college studio spaces to interact directly with Nashville’s art community — actually acting like the young creators they claimed to be. Co. H embodies these same ambitions, but they’ve demonstrated even more organization than their predecessor: Co. H has already curated some of Nashville’s raddest new art spaces, and they even have their own publication. The cooperative’s new multimedia exhibit, Council, includes painting, video, photography and sculpture, and it features work by Co. H members: Kellie Bornhoft, Ann Catherine Carter, Jessica Clay, Robert Grand, David King and Moses Williams.
