The U.S. Supreme Court, like the Tennessee Supreme Court before it, doesn't want to entertain the fight surrounding the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro.
The highest court in the land rejected an appeal Monday in the case regarding whether Rutherford County gave proper public notice before approving an expansion at what has become nationally known as the Murfreesboro Mosque. The decision puts an end to a years-long legal fight, which arose from an even longer period of ugliness that included vandalism, arson, and a bomb threat against the ICM.
Supporters celebrated the Supreme Court's decision Monday, on Twitter:
Congrats to Islamic Center of Murfreesboro! US Supreme Court will not take up case against the mosque! Religious freedom in TN wins again!
