Birthers: I Get It Now -- They Think Hawaii is a Foreign Country, Like Fiji!

This explains a lot. Some Birthers are still just conspiracy theorists. Others can't stand the funny name or the dark skin. But it would appear that many simply slept through grade-school geography.

Public Policy Polling nailed down the divergent factions that comprise the 24 percent of Americans who subscribe to Birtherism:

Let's start with the 62 percent of Americans who believe President Obama was born here, then add it up.

10 percent believe he was born in Indonesia.

7 percent believe he was born in Kenya.

1 percent believe he was born in the Philippines

Ok, so there's another 20 percent left. Well, who knows what they all think, but, according to the poll, 6 percent rightly believe he was born in Hawaii. However, they still don't think he's prez because they don't realize that the little collection of islands, magnified at the bottom of each map of this country, is, in fact, a part of the United States. Another 4 percent are unsure.

As Miss South Carolina would say, "I personally believe most U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps..."

Iraq, uh, South Africa...Hawaii!
