Squidwatch 2005

The Giant Squid is not about to lose the popularity contest to the Colossal Squid.

For the first time, a giant squid has been photographed alive and in its own environment. One of its tentacles broke off during the "photo shoot" so scientists kept it. They estimated from its size that the squid was about 26 ft. long.

Here is some more information about the giant squid.

I don't know why so many squids are making the news lately. I mean, first the colossal, then the giant, and now a different type of slimy thing, Tom DeLay.
