In Memoriam: Musicians and Industry Insiders We Lost in 2013

While the end of the year is of course a time for lists, countdowns, retrospectives, best-ofs, et cetera ad infinitum, it's also the time we take a sober look back at those we've lost in the past 12 months. Indeed, 2013 was a year full of gut-wrenching losses around these parts, and in this week's Scene cover story, some of our writers look back and remember our fallen legends and community members.

The lead section in our In Memoriam issue features all of the musicians and music-biz insiders we lost in 2013, and I'm sorry to say that it's a very full section. Click that link to see remembrances and profiles of innovative country star Ray Price, former Lambchop bassist Marc Trovillion, legendary behind-the-scenes man Cowboy Jack Clement, troubled country starlet Mindy McCready, the one and only George Jones, producer and music exec Jim Foglesong, Grand Ole Opry member Jack Greene, "(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window" crooner Patti Page, punk blogger/bassist/scene organizer Ben Todd, country singer Tompall Glaser and more.
