As if you could ever forget, The Spin had one helluva night the last time KOL played Bridgestone Arena. Of course, that was a long time ago (just over four years to the date at press time): Bridgestone Arena had a different name, the Followills were riding high on the throes of rock ’n’ roll excess, and The Spinsters were still in their 20s and drunk every day. Now them Followill boys are married, most with kids; they’ve put out two full-lengths in the intervening years and kicked a kick-ass local indie label into gear, putting out records by The Features, Turbo Fruits and The Weeks, and have seemingly let their feet touch the ground.
Nevertheless, it’s pretty safe to say The Spin won’t be invited back. As journalists (to use a term loosely, har!), we’re still curious to check it out though, and we promise to maybe give it a shot with totally unbiased eyes (hell, maybe we’ll send an intern!). Regardless, if we wanna take a wintertime, Music City ride on the mechanical bull of rawk, we’ll have to log on and actually buy tickets with the rest of the plebes when they go on sale next Friday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. (right here). It’ll be like when Ringling Bros. Circus comes to Bridgestone, what with the elephants in the room and all. Blues-rock god du jour Gary Clark Jr. opens.
Peep KOL’s current itinerary in full after the jump.
