The last time soft-rocking noodle monster John Mayer played Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, he issued a literally tearful onstage apology for some off-color remarks he made in a Playboy interview. (You know, the one where he said that his "dick is sort of like a white supremacist.") Mayer has of course set foot on a Nashville stage since then — last year at Zac Brown Band's inaugural Southern Ground Music and Food Fest — but today he announced that he'll return to Bridgestone on Dec. 4. Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m. via this link.
Mayer is touring in support of his brand-new Paradise Valley, and opening many of his dates (including the Nashville stop) will be American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips. As you can see from the image above, Mayer obviously recently attended Chris Martin's garage sale, where the Coldplay frontman was selling old clothes from his band's Viva la Vida Tour. Not only that, but he managed to find his way into my grandparents' closet, where he found my grandpa's old bathrobe AND my granny's old purse (the latter of which has been re-purposed here as some sort of gunpowder satchel). Anyway, top them with whatever embellishments you want — you can never go wrong with a solid pair of relaxed-fit dad jeans.
