As announced earlier today by Nashville's Dead, the local garage-punk-psych 'n' roll blog-cum-record label will celebrate their fourth birthday on Sept. 2 with a show at Exit/In. Headlining will be Memphis-bred garage-rock institutions Oblivians, who of course recorded their latest, Desperation, here in Nashville at Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound. Also on the bill will be hardcore-punk Memphians Ex-Cult, Fictional Boys (formerly MUZZ), locals Cy Barkley and the Way Outsiders (who will be celebrating the release of their new LP, Mutability) and MIA-as-of-late punk quartet Heavy Cream. As we mentioned back when we shared their "Prison Shanks" vid, Heavy Cream was rumored by many to have broken up, but have in fact recently been working on new material. Will we get to hear some of this new material on Sept. 2? Good question. As noted by ND, HC hasn't played a show "in nearly a year." DJ Babe Wave will spin records.

Tickets are available for $12 (plus service fees) here, and here's an MP3 of Grand Funk Railroad's "Got This Thing on the Move" that Nashville's Dead is sharing for shits and gigs, because why not.
