Experts say doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. So, if you’re crazy about Animal Collective, this is your (third) lucky day (this year). Life has been hard for local AC lovers lately. Sigh. But today, the avant electro-folk indie darlings have announced a make-up date for the Marathon Music Works gig they canceled due to illness last month, which itself was a make-up date for an ill-fated AC show originally slated for last March.

Redemption.

God willing, the band will (ostensibly) finally take to the Marathon Music Works stage on Dec. 8, which — if it does indeed come to fruition — will be the last date on its winter tour. As was planned for last month, crowd-participation-prone electro guy Dan Deacon opens.

Getch yer tix here!

In related news, Animal Collective has a new video for their latest single “Monkey Riches.” Although it’s not as funny as this clip, it is a period piece and you can check it out up top.

Can’t get enough Animal Collective? Then check out my interview with the ensemble’s sound manipulator, Brian “Geologist” Weitz, from back in March.
