AmericanaramA Festival of Music Brings Bob Dylan, Wilco, My Morning Jacket to the Lawn at Riverfront Park June 30

Remember what a bummer it was when Soundland 2012 was cancelled last fall? Well, I don’t wanna jinx it, but it looks like My Morning Jacket will get to play the Lawn at Riverfront Park (or as Nashville viewers know it, the future home of Lamar’s Subway Park baseball stadium) after all.

Jim James & Co. are set to join Bob Dylan and His Band (no, not The Hawks) and Wilco as part of the first annual AmericanaramA Festival of Music — a Warped Tour of sorts for the left-leaning, bookish roots-rock set — which, according to an announcement on The Bard’s website, kicks off June 26 in West Palm Beach, Fla., and comes to Nashville June 30 (that’s soon!).

In select cities not named Nashville, AmericanaramA (which is stylized with book-ended capital As, hopefully so that promoters can parody the Metallica logo on T-shirts and posters) will also boast the Richard Thompson Electric Trio and Ryan Bingham.

So, now even Bob Dylan’s jumping on the bandwagon of Americana branding. Not that he doesn’t have the right — more power to him — but hot damn does this Americana boom have legs. It’s, like, the new EDM. Way to go, music industry! Anyway, AmericanaramA Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, April 24, presumably at Ticketmaster. No word yet on what the festival’s policy on slam-dancing will be.
