Ovvio Arte Gets Back to Partying, Hosts Small Black and More Tonight

Add to your "cool shit to do" radar a new concert series from the folks over at the Ovvio Arte. They did a series called Bleed the Ballroom a while back, featuring Denney and the Jets with a swath of special guests. This evening, proprietors Veta Cicolello and Theo Atoniadis will host the inaugural installment of a new run called Bianca's Upset, with help from Jonas Stein and David Bermudez, aka Sparkle City DJs, local freaky-mericans Justin and the Cosmics, and capped off by the Nashville debut of Brooklynites Small Black. The travelin' quartet will be laying down some of their propulsive yet dreamy neon glow, which has been carved into the grooves of a new LP, Limits of Desire (take a listen to the lead track, "Free at Dawn"). That doesn't come out until May 14 (on Secretly Canadian subsidiary Jagjaguwar), but you can get a taste tonight down on Chestnut Street. Doors open at 8 p.m. for the 21+/BYOB event, and cover is $5.
