Free Show Alert: The Dough Rollers and Nashville Jumps DJ Set Tonight at The Stone Fox

If you find yourself light on dough here in the middle of the week, The Stone Fox has your back tonight: There's a free show put on by Third Man Records with The Dough Rollers onstage and Nashville Jumps’ DJ Pete Wilson on the platters. We told you back in December about Nashville Jumps going on indefinite hiatus from the airwaves, but as promised, Pete has continued to bring a healthy dose of “jump blues, jump 'n' jive, classic R&B, jazz and early, unbleached rock 'n’ roll” to the people in person, maintaining a DJ slot the first Wednesday of most months at the Fox.

Tonight, Pete will warm up dancin’ appendages for The Dough Rollers, a bi-coastal group featuring Jack Byrne and Malcolm Ford, who serve up hot portions of that blues and R&B the kids are so crazy about. They’re children of Hollywood stars (Byrne of Gabriel Byrne and Ellen Barkin, Ford of Harrison Ford), but The Dough Rollers have done their share of road doggin’ and fine-tuning, culminating in their latest studio efforts, produced by the one and only Josh Homme (QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures, Kyuss, a million more). The roughs leaked from said EP have a bit of a smoother indie edge, with a nod to early rock ‘n’ roll. Here's The Dough Rollers' Bandcamp page.

Peep the Facebook event here. Kicks off at 8 p.m., zero dinero required. Let all the children boogie!
