It's a big release day for loads of locals: Brooke Waggoner's Originator (see my review) is out today, as is Caitlin Rose's The Stand-In (see our feature in this week's forthcoming dead-tree edition) and Ashley Monroe's Like a Rose (see Jewly Hight's feature here). We'd be remiss not to mention local songster K.S. Rhoads, whose long-player The Wilderness (not to be confused with The Features' Wilderness) drops (guess when!) today. (By the way: Rose, Monroe's Rose and Rhoads? All on the same day? I smell Illuminati.)

Anyhow, Rhoads also has a brand-new video for his tune "Orphaned," and you can watch that above. The video sees a spacesuit-clad Rhoads playing the man who fell to Earth, wandering around Nashville and digging through dumps in search of robotic cohorts. The song itself is a grand, accessibly sunny sort of arena-pop song, very much in the vein of your Coldplays and your Snow Patrols — you know, triumphant choruses and big, swelling strings. You can stream all of The Wilderness via Rhoads' Soundcloud page or after the jump. Also, he'll play a release show this Friday, March 8, at 3rd & Lindsley.
