Clear Plastic Masks' 'So Real'; Catch Them at Mt. Swag or on Tour [Fresh Vid]

Recent Nashville transplants Clear Plastic Masks have been blowing up the spot lately: They played Nikki Lane's End of the World Party up at Oak Valley Lanes, not to mention night one of Mercy Lounge's two-night anniversary series last weekend. So how's about a formal introduction?

The by-way-of-Brooklynites have a brand-new video for their tune "So Real." It's a scuzzy, reckless, blooze-bolstered rock 'n' roll number (which reminds me at least a bit of Thee Oh Sees' brand of pulsing, balls-out psychedelia), and the booze-guzzling, arm-wrestling, bottle-rocketing, Joshua Shoemaker-directed video you can see above features performance audio and footage from CPM's August tour stop at Birmingham's Bottletree. Look closely and you'll also see a couple of the dudes from Fly Golden Eagle amid the antics. Clear Plastic Masks will play tomorrow at Mt. Swag along with Dirty Dreams and Ranch Ghost as part of Western Medication's release party (it's a house show; address withheld). If you don't catch that, no worries: They'll also play The End on Jan. 29 with William Tyler, Buffalo Clover and Promised Land. Also, CPM is departing on tour in February, and that run will bring them back 'round to Nashville for a show at The Basement on March 4. See the rest of Clear Plastic Masks' tour dates after the jump.
