Jack White Performs 'I'm Shakin'' on Conan

So it's basically Music City Month on Conan right about now. First we had a dose of JEFF the Brotherhood in the Cone Zone, bolstered by some psychedelic flute courtesy of Jerry Vivino. Then Ke$ha stopped off not only to perform her "Die Young," but also to talk to the Lanky Ginger One about that time she apparently had sex with a specter. Last night, the King of Cool himself, Mr. Jack White III, showed up for his old pal Conan's broadcast to perform his cover of Little Willie John's "I'm Shakin'" from this year's Blunderbuss. ("Shakin'," as you'll recall, has a pretty excellent music video.)

For this appearance, White was joined not by his all-dude outfit The Vultures, but rather his ladies-only crew The Peacocks. You got some Olivia Jean (formerly of The Black Belles) on guitar and vocals, some Brooke Waggoner on keys, a bit of Ruby Amanfu on BGVs and percussion, Autolux drummer Carla Azar back there on drums — you know, the usual suspects. In the performance — which you can of course watch above — White himself stands front and center, clad in an all-black suit and his baby-blue brogues, only pulling out the Tele for a characteristically fuzz-ensconced mid-song solo. Good performance, go ahead and dig it.
