With a diverse-as-fuck lineup sporting artists like Miike Snow, Squarepusher, The Magnetic Fields, GZA (performing Liquid Swords), Thomas Dolby, Ana Sia, El-P and Primus in 3D, who the hell wouldn’t wanna go to Moogfest 2012? The annual analog-synthesizer-themed musical sanctimony hits various venues in Asheville, N.C., Oct. 26 and 27.
I know, that is the same weekend as the inaugural, EDM-tastic Skrillex- and Pretty Lights-curated With Your Friends Festival here in Nashville. Like WYFF, Moogfest will feature appearances by Nas and Santigold, but in less dubsteppy environment, and on a bill that also boasts Squarepusher, Orbital, Explosions in the Sky, Four Tet, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Cold Cave, Prefus 73, Killer Mike, Wick-It the Instigator and more. (See the full lineup here.) Still heartbroken over that SoundLand cancellation forcing you to miss Divine Fits? Well, they’ll be rockin’ Moogfest as well.
Tickets for the synth-y shindig are fair-and-reasonable $100-$145. However, participate in this here caption contest and prove to us that you’re this here blog’s funniest reader and a free pair of Moogfest tickets are yours.
Of course, if you don’t already know how this shit works then you’re probably not gonna win, but just to be fair, here goes:
