The Stone Fox on July 12
These Stone Fox cats sure know how to stoke the flames of anticipation, am I right? All the way back in May, we told you about The Stone Fox, a forthcoming local venue to be opened by guitar-slinger William Tyler, his sister Elise and a crew of their pals. Later that month, we caught wind of the opening show, slated for July 12 and featuring psychedelic rock 'n' roller King Tuff. Of course, the Tuffy show had to be moved to the VFW — it was awesome, by the way. Then there was the Blues Control show, scheduled for today at The Stone Fox and moved to Dino's. And so we waited. We perused the Fox's Facebook page. We followed their Twitter feed. And we waited. Until now.

The Stone Fox folks have announced that their official opening show will take place on Monday, Sept. 24, and it will feature performances from Rob Mazurek's Sao Paolo Underground and local post-rock queen Cortney Tidwell. Sao Paolo Underground, by the way, makes a sort of jazz-infused, modern take on Tropicalia, complete with electronic flourishes and wildly proficient playing. Read more about those dudes here, and download an MP3 of their tune "Jagoda's Dream."

And just so everyone's clear, The Stone Fox is aboveboard — they've passed inspections both fire- and health-related, they've got booths and a fancy bar and all that.

Admission for the Sept. 24 show will run you $7, and here's the Facebook event page again. The Stone Fox is located at 712 51st Ave. N.
