Hey party people, how are you doing today? Warm? Dry? Electrified? I hope the storm treated you well and you're not going to be pumping out your basement, 'cuz we all know that's a shitty way to spend the weekend. You know what's not a bad way to spend the weekend? Listening to local music. Why not start with our not-mixed-not-a-tape mixtape? Taken care of? Good, now it's time for some partying and bullshitting. Our lead video this week is from some guy named PRo, who I just sort of randomly stumbled across on YouTube. I'm really digging the beat — it's laid-back and funky, just the way I like it — and his message is a solid one, but it's a shame that there's no really info attached to the video. I'd like to know what this dude is all about, but Googling "PRo Nashville" is a useless endeavor. Ah well, what can you do?
Now let's move this party train on down the line ...
* It's bald-guy week on Party & Bullsh*t! No, it's not. That's just a coincidence. But P&B buddy DJ/producer Quiet Entertainer posted his entire show from the Mercy last week and I gotta say, bro is sounding good these days. I'm also writing this really early, I'm a little hungover, and I haven't eaten breakfast, so some ambient-electronic/trip-hop action is exactly the mood I'm in. Well played, Entertainer, well played.
* See, I told you it wasn't bald guy week! John Dozier has hair and (!) a tight tune with a slick beat and some pretty good art metaphors. I'm interested to see more from this dude.
* From what I can tell, Nanho Gutta is actually from Union City, which falls out of this column's purview. The song is pretty close to terrible and the video is even worse, but damn if this isn't one of the funniest hooks I've heard since "Krispy Kreme." OK, it's not as funny as KK but I love the line "shittin' on you haters, no courtesy flush."
