Turbo Fruits Announce Tour, Will Open for Guided by Voices at Marathon, Appear in High Times

If you haven’t already snatched up tickets (here) to catch Guided by Voices at next week’s Scene Sounds Like Summer shindig at Marathon Music Works, here’s a little extra incentive to stop willy-nillying your way through life: Turbo Fruits will open.

And that’s not the only gig our favorite psych-punk hometown heroes have on the horizon. In fact, it isn’t even the only Nashville show the Fruits currently have on the books. The band has announced a 15-date tour that will include a Sept. 7 record release show at Exit/In, to also feature Ranch Ghost and Karl King, as well as a Sept. 27 appearance at Cincinnati, Ohio’s Midpoint Music Fest, where they’ll share the bill with The Walkmen, Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors, Dinosaur Jr. and Sleigh Bells. Peep the itinerary after the jump. And while you’re at it, peep the picture of the band’s wet, hot, American High Times magazine photo shoot that their label Serpents and Snakes Records posted on Facebook. That’s right, Turbo Fruits will soon appear in High Times. The band’s forthcoming LP Butter drops Sept. 11.
