Now here's a sob story: Atlanta Southern rock flag fliers Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ have a near-30-year career under their belt, but I suppose they are still new faces to some. Regardless, the band — who are currently in town recording — will make a free, full-band, special appearance tonight at The Basement, following an early edition of the club’s weekly New Faces Nite. This according to an email from the club’s Commander-in-Chief Mike Grimes, who tells the Scene to expect D’N’C to hit the stage at 9 p.m. And to reiterate the best news of all: The show is FREE. (@SeanLMaloney is psyched!)
Planning on arriving early to make damn sure you’ll get in? Then expect to greet new faces like Alexis Marceau and the Samurai, Sideshow Tragedy, Rebecca Almon, Dolphin Mouth and Jon Gambino with your ears. Kick off is at 7 p.m.
This raises the question: Should we expect to see Drivn’ N’ Cryin’ to compete on a Road to Bonnaroo bill next year? If so, do you think they would win?
