All right readers, show of hands: Who wants to roll their eyes RIGHT NOW? Well then get a load of this shit: Heroes star Hayden Panettiere is set to star as a country singer and teen sensation in an ABC soap opera pilot called ... wait for it ... Nashville. And BAM! Instant gratification. Your eyes are now rolling like Robert Altman in his grave.
Here's what the Panettiere tellz Perez Hilton to expect of the show:
[A] family soap about love, country music, family, politics and sex set against the backdrop of the Nashville music scene. It centers on 40-year-old Nashville superstar Rayna James who is stunned to find that her star is fading and her label requires her to team up with teen sensation Juliette Barnes (Panettiere) on tour—or else face the loss of her own tour and the label’s promotion of her latest record, whose sales have been underwhelming.
Mmmmmmkay. The show — which will also star Jonathan Jackson, Powers Boothe, Robert Wisdom, Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio — sounds like a network-lathered attempt at Country Strong: The Sequel. Not onscreen but in real life. And with what sounds like a likely Taylor Swift-inspired character.
To ready herself for the role Panettiere, apparently a method actor, has already started tweeting like Tweet Baby Tay-Tay. Check it out:
