* You guys familiar with Nashville-based songstress Jessie Baylin? Sure, she happens to be the spouse of Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill, but forget that for a minute. Baylin has a five-song EP by the name of Pleasure Center, and you can hear the whole thing for free via Soundcloud. The EP was produced by indie-pop mastermind Richard Swift (I'm an enormous Swift fan), and it's packed with dreamy, mid-tempo covers (Fleetwood Mac, Sonic Youth and more) delivered in a trad-pop style that brings to mind everything from fellow local Nikki Lane to French pop chanteuse Francoise Hardy, Spector's girl groups and Scottish monsters of twee Camera Obscura. Listen carefully and you'll hear Swift's backing vocals in there a little bit, as well. Very lovely stuff — seriously, the most pleasant surprise I've stumbled across in months. Hear the whole thing after the jump. Props to contributor Nicole Keiper for sending this one along. I've already listened three times.

* UK-based roots/country/folk blog For Folk's Sake will officially release a Christmas compilation by the name of For Folk's Sake It's Christmas on Nov. 28. You can pre-order and preview the whole thing via the FFS Bandcamp page, and you'll notice that the comp features a rendition of "You Never Come Home for Christmas" by Nashvillians Caitlin Rose and Keegan DeWitt. A beautiful little duet to get you in the holiday spirit. Hear that one after the jump as well.

* And finally, Nashville's smoothest electro-pop braniacs, Jensen Sportag, recently remixed French outfit Francois and the Atlas Mountains' tune "Piscine." The remix was released via Domino Records and is sultry and poppy and dancy and everything you'd hope from the 'Tag bros. Hear that one via Sportag's Soundcloud page or — guess where! — after the jump.
