You should hear my impression of Rachael Ray. It's pretty spot on. Here's the trick: Pretend you have a mouthful of asparagus, and — cheeks bulging behind a faux smile — say, "Mmmm! This ... mmm [chew, chew] ... this is really, really good ... [chew] mmm, armm mmurrr ... "
Every Day With Rachael Ray is a magazine that — until now — I'd only touched when picking up what we called "slush" (i.e., abandoned magazines) when I worked at Barnes & Noble. But above you'll see a scan of a spread called "Two Takes on Nashville," which features recommended Nashville hot spots from "country superstars" Trisha Yearwood and Justin Townes Earle. As you'll see, Yearwood keeps it pretty tradish, citing jump-offs like the Country Music Hall of Fame and Tootsie's, while JTE gets a little more obscure with it, talking about FooBar, Prince's, Sip and Imogene + Willie. Props to Ray-Ray fan and Scene art director Elizabeth Jones, who hipped us to the spread and scanned it for us.
