* On Friday, I posted about some leakage of ROME. To quote myself, it's that "forthcoming album from Danger Mouse and Italian composer Daniele Luppi that features vocals from Jack White and Norah Jones." It drops May 17, but you can stream the whole damn thing at NPR right now. People keep using the phrase "spaghetti Western" to describe it — which is fair enough — and it certainly seems perfect for the NPR set: grandiose, refined but accessible, and full of pancultural influence. Classy.

* Belmont's Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business is launching a student think tank. What will students think about whilst they hang out in this tank? Why, "developing new concepts and solutions and influencing the entertainment and music industry through its creative capital," apparently. Think tanks can be great, but sometimes they get all erudite and obfuscated. Maybe these kids will keep it accessible. We'll keep an eye on 'em.

* CoS has word that Live Nation is partnering with Groupon (the popular daily deals website) to form an online ticketing deals website. It's called GrouponLive, it exists because of declining ticket sales, and it will be fully launched "in time for the summer concert season."

* Pretty strong-lookin' 8 off 8th tonight at Mercy Lounge, featuring Denney and the Jets, The Coolin' System, Gabrahm Vitek and loads more. Per usual, 8 off 8th is free and kicks off at 9 p.m. Rock and Roll Trivia, by the way, will be tomorrow night.
