You know that thing that happens when you assign a feature story about a jazz legend who's coming to town to play a really worthy benefit concert, and then the show gets canceled last-minute, but roughly 50,000 copies of the story are printed and distributed anyway? Yeah, that happened. According to TPAC's site, Tyner's performance tonight in Andrew Jackson Hall has been canceled:

This Production has been cancelled. Full refunds will be issued to the original method of payment. Cash orders will be refunded via Check. Please call 615-782-4040 for more information.

Bummer. Well, that doesn't mean Ron's story isn't still worth a read. Now, as per my job description, I have to hop on my scooter, grab some White-Out, and hit every newsstand in the city.

Update: Reggie Holder and Greta Manning of the Trio Music Group and Ora's Alliance issued the following official statement without further comment:

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to make the decision to cancel tonight's performance. We thank you for your support.
