Aside from RZA's boom-bap, The 188.8.131.52.s might have been the best thing about Kill Bill. They were certainly more convincing than the fake snow in the Lucy Liu scalping scene, and in any case, it was cool that their live performance was actually a live performance, instead of the lip-sync-over-a-track treatment that so many bands get in their movie cameos. Anyway, a smitten Nashville's Dead reports that the Japanese trio will perform at Third Man Records on Friday. The show will be recorded for a live LP down the road, and the band will also record a 7-inch while in town. If you missed them in Memphis on Sunday, this is your only chance to see them stateside on this jaunt. 9 p.m., 21+, $5.
