Have you ever noticed that “tumblin’ dice” kind of rhymes with “Cumberland rise”? Keith Urban has. In celebration of Exile on Main Street being reissued on May 18, Fallon is hosting a Rolling Stones week, in which a different artist performs an Exile cover every night. Last night, Nashville’s second-favorite Australian export played “Tumblin’ Dice” — it was definitely the best thing I’ve ever heard Urban do, though it wasn’t quite as cool as anything Jagger’s ever done. If you don’t count this, that is.
Toward the end of his performance, you’ll notice that Urban references the “rain comin’ down in Nashville, Tennessee,” and how he’s been “watchin’ the Cumberland rise.” I just can’t bring myself to do anything petty like, I don’t know, make fun of his hairdo or something, when he’s trying to get the word out about The Flood. Hell, this is probably the most coverage The Flood has gotten on network television. That video will probably expire soon, so soak it in while you can.
