I'm happy to report that neither the Cannery Ballroom nor the Mercy Lounge has been affected by this weekend's massive flood. A post on the club's official site reads:

While the Mercy Lounge and Cannery Ballroom were not affected by the flooding, so many of our friends - our customers, staff, and artists who play here - have suffered losses. The city and community that we all love need our help.

So, in doing their part to aid relief efforts, the club will host a benefit show this Wednesday. Appearances by both Paper Route and The Dozen Dimes are confirmed, and general Manager Drew Mischke tells the Scene that How I Became the Bomb and Hillbilly Casino are each tentatively scheduled to perform as well. We'll keep you updated as the details take shape.

Admission will be free and donation stations will be set up throughout the club. All proceeds will be donated to Hands On Nashville and The Community Foundation. Doors are 8 p.m. and the show is 18+.

While this is definitely a show you shouldn't skip, remember that there's no need to wait 'til Wednesday to make a donation. We at the Cream encourage you to click either of the links above to show your support.
