Holly Golightly and the Brokeoffs are at The End, and I have to say, I've been listening to the new one, Dirt Don't Hurt, quite a bit. I don't always get much out of so-called revivalist music, but as Edd Hurt says in his feature, the album "displays an understated virtuosity, with licks you've heard a thousand times played a touch differently." Good stuff. That's at The End.
Colbie "Rhymes With Ballet" Caillat looks a hell of a lot like Jennifer Aniston. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Her MySpace page apparently has over 34,000,000 profile views, but it completely crashed my browser when I tried to check it out. I don't really watch TV, so if she's famous for a song that was made famous in a famous TV show, then that would explain why I've never heard her music before. She'll be at The Cannery at 9 p.m.
The Cool Kids play Exit/In with Matt & Kim, who are sponsored by Converse. Needless to say, there will probably be a lot of cool kids at this show, so plan accordingly. I'm guessing that exactly zero of you are having trouble deciding between this one and Yes (7:30 p.m.) at The Ryman.
The Delta Spirit play Grimey's at a time yet to be determined. Then they're at Mercy Lounge later tonight with All We Seabees, as voted in by Cream readers. You can register to win tickets to Mercy while at the in-store.
